Shortly after you sign up, your equipment is delivered to you. This includes at least a modem and a router (since they are included in your package) but there may be more depending on the services you have chosen.

Get your equipment by actual mail.

It is possible that a technician appointment may be required to install and activate your services in your home. You will know if this is necessary during your registration and you will be able to choose some time windows that suit you.

How do I know if my address is served by oxio's services?

It depends mainly on the type of connection your former provider uses. If you already have a working coaxial cable in your home, there is a good chance that you can be activated remotely. A visit will be necessary if your former provider has another type of connection, such as ADSL or fibre. The purpose of the visit is simply to connect your home to the cable network.

How do I know if I need a technician visit? What does it involve?

The real answer is that it depends. The easiest way to know is to follow the instructions that are provided to you by email right after you sign up. You'll be told exactly what to do and when to make your activation as smooth as possible.

When do I have to cancel my services with my old provider in all this?

Many factors come into play, such as whether or not a technician is required, or even the time of year, but it generally takes between 7 and 14 days to complete your activation.

How long does it take to switch to oxio?

We need your first payment to be by credit card because we ship your equipment as soon as you finish subscribing. So, the first payment is kind of like insurance for us—we feel better loaning our equipment to you if we know your credit card works. But don’t worry, the amount charged to your credit card will be applied as a credit on your first invoice (which will be created the day your oxio services are activated).
